"Messenger" — Hill Pigeon (Columba rupestris) standing on a place of prayer, backdropped against the Lungta flags, an epitome of Tibet. Pigeons are commonly seen around Buddhist temples, thus earning them a place in Buddhist culture. They symbolize peace, liberation, and rebirth, just like how Lungta flags are arranged on mountaintops to send blessings by the wind.
"Voyager of Sunset" — A whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus) resting on bird rock in Laguna Beach, against the backdrop of sunset and Pacific waves. At the turn of spring, these birds will fly North to their breeding grounds in the Arctic tundra, one of the longest migrations of any shorebird.
