How Can You **NOT** Say It’s Just A Game?

Dear Samuel Ward,

How can you not say it's just not a game

When life is nothing but just that?

Not everything needs to be ranked

Not every medal is made of real gold

How can you not say it's just a game

My blood, sweat, and tears only flow for my loved ones.

I know the ESC key is still on the top left

I know my supporters are still behind me

How can you not say it's just a game

The feeling and moments won’t last a lifetime

No one will remember my lap times last race (I hope)

But on someone’s joyful memories will forever exist my fingerprint

How can you not say it's just a game

Because I sure won’t take all these Ronald McDonalds seriously

just put the bigotry in the bag

I’m just happy that we’re all here

How can you not say it's just a game?

Sure, winning and losing can determine how one feels

But as long as we return

We can always get them next time

How can you not say it's just a game

When we can all bring out a different persona

I don’t always need to play the Joker

The deck is in my hands, and I want to be the Ace today

How can you not say it's just a game

When I only have myself to answer

Behind the helmet, face paint, or keyboard

Who will I be today?

How can you not say it's just a game

When our fumbles crack us up

I guess you wouldn’t understand

We’re here to have fun

How can you not say it's just a game

When it is only one of my passions and drive

This thing you call just “not just a game”

Is just a tiny shard of my life.
